First Assistance

Battery off-

  1. Switch battery on.
  2. Listen for a latching sound, and the latching relay must close.
  3. Measure power on terminals of battery while battery is not connected to anything else.
  4. Is the screen on of the battery?
  5. Look for error codes. If error codes are present, please follow the guides instructed in the manual.
  6. If there are no errors and there is still no power on terminals, contact your installer or supplier.
  7. If the screen is dead, please contact your installer or supplier.


No CAN-bus Communication

  1. Please contact your installer or supplier.

VCell Low.

  1. Check all the cell voltages, and there will be a cell with a lower cell voltage than the rest of the cells.
  2. If you have a cell lower than 1.8V, must the battery be sent back to Blue Nova Energy for cell revival.
  3. Those cells need to be charged to the same voltage values as the rest.
  4. You can charge the total pack from an inverter with a low current of about 5ah max until all the cells are above 3.5V and bleeding.
  5. Leave these settings for about a week. 
  6. Set the bulk voltage to the following settings.
    56.5V 5A for a 48V system.
    28.1V 5A for a 24V system.
    14.V 5A for a 12V system.
    If you are not able to do this or it does not solve your problem, please contact your supplier or installer.
  7. If this is a regular problem, please use an Equalisation Function. Set to equalize at least every seven days for 120 mins to the following voltage.

57.5V 5A for a 48V system.
28.8V 5A for a 24V system.
14.5V 5A for a 12V system.


VCell High.

  1. Check all cell voltages, and there will be a cell with Higher voltages than the rest of the cell.
  2. Those cells need to be charged to the same voltage values as the rest.
  3. You can charge the total pack from an inverter with an low current about 5Amax until all the cells are below 3.51V.
  4. Set pack to following settings.
    55.5V 5A for a 48V system.
    27.5V 5A for a 24V system.
    13.5V 5A for a 12V system.
    If you are not able to do this or it does not solve your problem, please contact your supplier or installer.


Cell comm Error.

  1. Confirm that battery is correctly connected up, As per in user manual. 
  2. Confirm data and coms connections as per user manual. 
  3. Make sure you have the latest firmware installer BMMC V3.5 / 123BMS V5.12.
  4. Check that all the cells of the battery are above 3V if not override that battery and charge the pack.
  5. Please contact your supplier or installer.


Dead or Flat Battery.

  1. Switch battery on look if the display will boot up go to override, hold the button in until override is active, and until you see a positive current going into the battery.
  2. If this is not possible, jump-start your battery to get the display active, and follow the same process as in no 1. (WARNING When you jump-start the battery make sure you remove the external battery before the contactor close)
  3. If nothing is working, please contact your installer or supplier.
